Why would anyone pay to advertise Cabela's or Harley Davidson? They should be paying you.

RE: Leveling using SCIENCE! (Trigonometry time)

To be strictly correct and as the OP stated, the wheelbase is the hypotenuse. Therefore the sine of the angle should be used.
To level front to rear, rather than use boards, or dig holes, why not just let the necessary tyres down? This is a lot easier. When it comes time to leave, the DW can pump them up while you are doing the dirty work of dumping your tanks......

RE: Septic flush leak

More detail required. Where/how is it leaking water? I know that when I disconnect the hose on mine, I get some water flowing out of the trailer connection. I believe that this is due to the siphon breaker operating and draining water back from the high point.

RE: no hot water heater bypass

If you go the non-anti-freeze route, be sure to blow out your lines really well (with air from an oil free compressor) A little bit of water, freezing in the wrong place can cause damage. The problem areas are elbows and fittings. A few cc's of water trapped in an elbow can break it when it freezes. Tubing is not a problem, in fact ice plugs are used in dustry and by commercial plumbers to provide isolation for maintenance on water systems.

RE: Ontario Class A Owners. The Rules Have Changed.

Did some more checking. If one takes the link to the actual legislation, it specifies that an A licence is required if the towed vehicle weight exceeds 4600kg. The website is a little misleading I think.

RE: Ontario Class A Owners. The Rules Have Changed.

Interesting.
Does this mean that if a truck towing a trailer is registered for the combination weight, then as long as the combo weight does not exceed the 11000 kg, then a class G licence will suffice, or does it mean that you need a class A because the towed vehicle exceeds 4600 kg (likely if the combo is close to 11000 kg)?
So is this a change for truck and trailer owners also?

RE: Oops, go back to sleep!

Here we go again, a civilized discussion on sliders, superglides, long beds, and Heartland get hijacked by two posters using "all caps". Talking of hijacking, did you know that Hijacker now makes an auto sliding hitch?

RE: Titanium )wners - What's your MPG

I have recorded between 10 and 12 miles per imperial gallon on a trip consisting of two lane roads and expressways with the rig and truck in my signature. I was driving at the speed limit + or - 5 mph. I know if I drop my speed a little I get a significant improvement.

RE: Which Grocery Store -- Sarnia?

There is a Valu Mart in Sauble Beach. However I recommend stopping at either the IGA in Forest (easy parking behind store, Tim Hortons across the road) or the Sobey's in Kincardine (easy parking, Tims close by also). Both these stores are on the way on highway 21. I don't recommend the Independent in Port Elgin ( I live here and find it pricey)

RE: Removing Wallpaper Border Glue-HELP

We just removed the border in our trailer. We used a hair drier to warm it up, and then peeled it off. The glue residue was easily removed with a little paint thinner. I would not advise a stronger solvent, as it may damage the vinyl wall covering.

In the national capital with a great bunch of fellow Titanium owners. I work shifts, so I had to take vacation to get the necessary string of days off.

RE: Convincing Wife to get new truck

While another poster was correct in stating that trailer brakes stop the trailer, they only brake the trailer wheels. The trailer mass that is transferred to the truck, i.e the pin weight, has to be handled by the truck brakes. If you exceed the trucks GVWR, then you are going to challenge the brakes.
I agree with other posters w.r.t. the F350 SRW, it has a substantial GVWR for an SRW, just vwatch out for bed clearance as the back ebd of the truck is quite high in stock form.

Upper Ottawa Valley Campgrounds

I'm looking for a campground to spend some quiet time in this July. Pembroke, Deep River or Stonecliffe area. My trailer is quite long (36 feet pin to rear) so I want a site with good access and good size lots. I also need somewhere quiet - not too many kids or partying singles. Campground websites portray them all as idyllic of course. Ideas anyone?

RE: Trailer RIMS

For alloy rims that I am familiar with, the max pressure stamped on them refers to the maximum tyre mounting pressure. Actual tyre inflation pressure can be higher. Seating the tyre bead puts additional stress on the rim, and thus a lower pressure limit is stated to minimize risk of rim failure. This may apply to steel rims also, although a steel rim is less likely to explode than an alloy one. Trailer manufacturers generally ensure that the wheel is rated for the supplied tyre's inflation presure at its maximum rated load.
By rim, I mean the wheel...
Anyone else care to comment?

RE: London Ontario Campgrounds

Would not recommend the KOA unless it has changed dramatically in the last two years. It needed much TLC when we stayed there 2 years ago. The conservation areas are generally maintained to a higher standard, but will not have full hook ups for transients. You should be able to get 30A and water though.
